Rough grains rub against the smooth skin underfoot. The sound of the shards of stone crunching from the weight of our footsteps. When inspected, billions of tiny rocks make up the ground we stand on, perhaps they were fossils before they ended up as a small jigsaw piece to a sandcastle. For the texture on this series, we wanted to encourage the natural grain of the clay and the resemblence it shares with the grains of sands on our Dorset beaches.
Flower shaped earrings dried naturally in sun, infused with Ink and sanded to a smooth surface, encouraging the natural grain of the Porcelain to shine through, almost akin to grains of sand.
Each necklace is individually handcrafted from start to finish so no two are identical, although will appear similar.
We use Florence, Italian, Porcelain Clay for a lightweight and organic feel.
Original William Morris inspired pattern for an elegant look and aesthetic.

Colours and shape will have slight variations to the images on the website as the inks and clay are made specific to each individual product. Although they repel water due to the gloss-varnish, we would not advise wearing our pieces in the shower, or the sea / anything similar, as this can soften the clay over time.
