Excellence in

Established in 2021, Seraphim&Sapphire was created in order to revive the traditional way of craftsmanship, with the aim to bring back the connection between humans and craftmanship, restablishing the passion for the process that has been everpresent throughout all of history. Using the Arts & Crafts Movement as our main inspiration for our principles, we started building together ideas about what this could look like in the 21st century. Before we knew it, Seraphim&Sapphire had been created out a living room, by a small coastal town.

We design and handcraft products using high-quality materials from all over the world, making sure to know our suppliers personally. Our principles and concepts are based on the Arts & Crafts Movement, 1860s England. Similar to the Movement being a response to the Industrial Revolution, our brand is in response to the AI Revolution. Mentioned in the V&A “The Arts and Crafts movement in Britain was born out of an increasing understanding that society needed to adopt a different set of priorities in relation to the manufacture of objects. Its leaders wanted to develop products that not only had more integrity but which were also made in a less dehumanising way.”

The pieces we produce are more than a product. There is a meaning and story behind each individual design. We are more than a business. Our brand embodies the concept of the Crystal Palace Exhibition of the 1850s, with craftsmanship, design, and innovation being the concrete scaffolding for our brand.

Only making 1000 pieces of each design means you will own an exclusive work of art, not just a mass produced item, that will be one of kind for generations. We decided on this in order to keep the originality of each one fresh. For mass produced items, you can easily find the same design replicated continusously. There is nothing inherently wrong with this, but we believe that individuality and unique designs perfectly match the complexities of human personalities and characters.

Each piece is fuelled with inspiration and imagination, giving it a unique and unusual story; a meaning and the journey the piece has taken. Yet its up the person receiving it to add their own meaning, through experiences, memories, moments. Our art is designed to be a time machine of memories and experiences, not souless objects.

Seraphim&Sapphire isn’t about the products or the items themselves, but about the story and meaning behind them. Unlike mass manufacturing, where each piece is identical, our designs are made so that no two are alike, making each of our art pieces truly one of a kind. You won’t be able to find our designs within big shops. We focus on the intricaties of items being handcrafted, as the connection between the maker and made is something a machine can never achieve.

Our Designer Maker Terence, has a degree in 3d product design from Arts University Bournemouth, and intricately hand draws each piece out first then spends days bringing the drawings to life and crafting them into the item you have now. With hand-drawing, you’re able to grasp the initial connection of ideas and concepts, but it isn’t until the process has began that the item itself will start to tell you what it wants to be. Terence has always been creating and designing since his was a student, hand crafting each product, he knows how to create pieces of the highest quality. Longevity and durablity are key aspects in designing an item, making sure they last against the wear and tear of the world.

We are passionate about maintaining English tradition and culture within our work and can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next. Our pieces are meant to be cherished for generations to come, with our values remaining steadfast through our work.
